Here are the last 2 drawings Lee-Kuo drew in art class this semester. Normally he never shows us his school work but these are really good so I said I would put them on my blog.

Another semester has ended and I thought I would share this little project with you. I began with the popsicle frame because this gave me the artwork size. Then I printed the children’s names and cut the paper to fit the frame. The children loved working with sand, but you must do this project outside. I collected all the sand which was on the table and used it for the outer frame of the picture. The students really enjoyed being outside and creating this simple project.

Lee-Kuo is now a teenager and we thought it would be a good age to watch the old classic Star Wars movies. He loved them and I really enjoyed watching them again, so we decided to look for the models I made about 10 years ago from Shunichi Makino and we found his web page. Lee-Kuo had so much enthusiasm he cut, glued and built these models early in the morning and evening. He is now building the X-Wing. Shunichi Makino website here
Popsicle stick money box a great project for teaching English

I have made this popsicle money box with all my students and all of them were so overjoyed when they had finished. It really is a lovely thing and to make one yourself is a great achievement. The original can be bought as a kit in every stationary shop in Taiwan, but I bought packs of popsicle sticks and cut them myself for each student. Take a look at the original kit that Lee-Kuo made earlier on this blog, or have a look at the original kit from Big3 in Taiwan. Original kit here

As Lee-Kuo was sitting in his classroom, the student next to him asked if he was bored, because Lee had just drawn the whole alphabet on a test sheet. These are amazing creations drawn with great skill and care. It is one single thread that creates each letter, take a look at the letter B which Lee made one evening. He never stops making his parents proud of him, fantastic Lee-Kuo.
Head Over Heels – The maps

A long time ago when I was a teenager, I played with my Sinclair Spectrum. The games were lots of fun and it was so easy to program your own music and scrolling games. Head over heels is a classic isometric game and this is a magnificent, beautifully rendered version ported for the mac by RETROSPEC. The graphics are simply superb and the music never gets boring. What you will find here are hundreds of screenshots sewn together to create the maps for each level. I did this for my son who was very small at the time and so now he decided he would like others to benefit from having the maps.
Cube maze, designed by Lee-Kuo

This beautiful maze was completely designed by Lee-Kuo. He began with a few sketches on graph paper and then decided to use a 20 mm cube grid system with 5 mm thick walls. He drew the maze on 4 separate floors until he had a great pathway to the end. After he had finished the drawings he wanted to make it with matchsticks, we glued about 500 together and decided it would take to long, so I drew everything in Illustrator and printed it onto 120g paper. The result is a wonderfully strong cube maze which gives people hours of fun trying to get the ball through the maze. I am now working on an animated solution which will be on my YouTube channel when finished.
Popsicle stick companion cube

I made this lovely cube after I had finished my matchstick cube. It uses the same battery and LED set-up as my paper lamps. There is tracing paper inside the cube to give a diffused glow. It’s a very simple and easy to make craft using the 5.5 cm sticks. Download the instructions with template from the downloads page, have fun.

This is the keyboard for the iMac which I made for a student drama. You can find the iMac elsewhere on my blog and download a pdf to make it yourself. The keyboard was very easy to construct but took a long time cutting and gluing all the keys. Download the pdf and start making your iMac with keyboard today.
