After a long break from doing crafts we are now back with another wonderful project. My son Lee built a 30Watt stereo amplifier during the summer vacation and designed these speakers at school. Finally we managed to find time to complete them and the gluing of felt was a great exercise in being neat. The loudspeakers cost 10 Euro from our local electronics shop. They look, feel and sound great on his amplifier (see a post further down) We will design speaker stands for them to bring them to ear height.

We have moved home and so there have been no posts for a long time. These beautiful mini golf boards are great to play with and now we have 4 more for the collection. We made these during the summer vacation but we had a typhoon and they all soaked up the rain so we had to re-make them. Now we are settling into a routine maybe we can post a few more crafts.

This is not an original idea but nevertheless a wonderful craft for children to make. With just one packet of 50 large sticks you can make this beautiful treasure chest for those small things in life. I have made this craft with all my students and they still use them today.

Lee-Kuo found a new pair of speakers in our local electronics shop, which gave him the idea to build little speaker boxes and drive them with a self built amplifier. He designed the box with a bass port at school and we did a quick rendering in Cinema 4d to see if it would look good. I cut the wood and sanded it in about half an hour and Lee-Kuo did the soldering and electrical connections. We are really pleased with the results and they sound really powerful.

This was another summer vacation craft that Lee-Kuo made. He missed the crazy golf course in Germany and decided to make his own from wood. We found a wonderful set of instructions on the internet from a magazine printed in 1950. Lee-Kuo had so much fun sawing, cutting, sanding, shaping, drilling and gluing. The summer vacation was simply too short so he only completed 5 holes, nevertheless they are superb. click here for the original 1950 instructions
